Rapidly Deployable Water Filled Flood Diversion Barriers Protect Against a Flood Disaster

Flood Barrier Parameter

Main material: 0.9mm PVC coated tarpaulin

Dimension: 1.2m height x 1.2m width x 5m length(could be customized)

Color: orange, blue, black, yellow, red, grey, green

Weight: 1100g/m2

Working Principle

The Water Filled Cofferdam works by filling the flood control unit with water . In conjunction with the baffle stabilization system, this creates a temporary non-rolling water-filled barrier which can control up to 75% of its height in flood water depth when filled.

Product Detail

Flood Barrier Hightlights

Easy Assembly
Installation is 10 times faster than traditional sandbag dams and requires much less manpower. Our flood control dams can be deployed with little as 1 person and a garden hose.

Easy Storage
100% reusable! Our flood control dams are manufactured with a mildew resistant heavy duty fabric and can be put away compact for easy storage for a later date.

Durable
Made of industrial strength geo-textile woven polypropylene materials that can withstand tremendous water pressure are puncture resistant. Workers can walk on them during installation and removal without fear of damage.

Flexible
Multiple cofferdams can be connected as needed to form any length barrier. Height, width, length can be customized. They conform to virtually every type of landscape and weather condition.

FAQS

What is the tallest inflatable flood barrier available?

There is no practical limit to the maximum height of dam that can be produced. While our standard inflatable flood barriers range in height from 1ft (0.3m) to 16ft (4.8m), inflatable flood barriers up to 28ft in height have been successfully produced and installed.

What lengths of inflatable flood barrier are available?

Our inflatable flood barriers are stockpiled and available for purchase in a range of standard lengths, from 50ft to 500ft, in 50ft increments. With enough lead time, we can manufacture a unit to custom length, to fit the unique requirements of your site.

How much lead time is needed?

The minimum amount of lead time needed is 1 day, plus shipping time, if the required inflatable flood barrier is in stock. If the inflatable flood barrier is not in stock, manufacturing time of 1-10 days should also be accounted for. Most inflatable flood barriers are manufactured in 1-3 days time. The more lead time you can give, the better.

What is the price of the inflatable flood barrier? Where can I find your price sheet?

The price of the inflatable flood barrier is determined by the height of the dam being considered. The retail price of a 1ft dam is much less than that of a 16ft tall inflatable flood barrier. Please contact us to start the process of determining the price of the right dam for your project.

What kind of water can be used in an inflatable flood barrier?

Usually, the on site water is appropriate to use for filling the inflatable flood barrier. Having an on-site pumping operation, using the on site water, speeds up the installation process tremendously. The inflatable flood barrier material is resistant to most chemicals, acids and bases, but each site should be considered on a case by case basis. Please mention any known or suspected contaminants at your site.

What is the inflatable flood barrier made of?

The watertight inner tubing of the inflatable flood barrier is made of extruded (virgin) Polyethylene. For most dams, this tubing is 12 mil thick. The outer sleeve of the inflatable flood barrier, with the center stability baffle forming the (2) side by side chamber for the inner tubes, is made of a Polypropylene geotextile, woven for strength. With the maximum incorporateable levels of UV-inhibiting compounds, this material is rated for 80% after 2500 hours of UV exposure (ASTM D 4355)

How long can inflatable flood barrier remain in place as a water retention system?

The outer woven geo-textile plastic tube standard to all inflatable flood barrier contains UV inhibitors to prevent damage due to sunlight exposure. A properly maintained inflatable flood barrier can remain in place for well over a year in direct sunlight. Stored properly, the shelf life of an inflatable flood barrier is indefinite. Limitations related to the flow periods As long as the maximum water depth during the life of the project is accounted for, the inflatable flood barrier will remain stable for the duration of the project. In the event of unexpected increases in water levels, most inflatable flood barrier can be removed in one day without any damage to the environment and then reinstalled after the water levels return to normal. A second option would be to increase the height of the installed inflatable flood barrier by pumping more water into the dam and temporarily over inflating it. For example, a 4 foot high inflatable flood barrier could be over inflated to almost 8 feet in height under the right conditions.

Are there any limitations related to the slope of the stream bank or stream bed gradient?

If the slope is parallel to the length of the inflatable flood barrier, it does not have an affect on the stability of the structure as long as the depth of the containment does not exceed the recommended values along that length.

Are inflatable flood barrier reusable?

Under most conditions inflatable flood barrier can be reused. Even a punctured inflatable flood barrier can easily be patched. As long as the inflatable flood barrier is not irreparably damaged during the deflation, it can be pulled from the water and stored for another project.
